Community outreach, de-addiction support, and mental health services in Howrah, Rishra, and Barasat
Our promise
When someone in the family is struggling, whether with substance use, stress, or the weight of everyday life, help should feel close, practical, and kind. Rouse Foundation offers confidential counseling, de-addiction support, and community programs across Howrah, Rishra, and Barasat so people can get care without traveling far or feeling judged.
What we help with
- Alcohol and substance use concerns (assessment, counseling, relapse prevention)
- Family and couples counseling focused on recovery support
- Youth-focused sessions on peer pressure, vaping, and internet overuse
- Anxiety, low mood, sleep issues, and workplace stress
- Referrals for medical detox and rehabilitation when needed
- Community talks for schools, clubs, and resident associations
We start simple: one conversation, one plan, no pressure. Most people begin with a 45–60 minute session and decide next steps together with a counselor.
How we work
Listen first. We allow time to tell your story without interruptions.
Set small goals. We agree on one or two changes for the week, not ten.
Use evidence-based tools. Motivational interviewing, CBT-informed strategies, and routine check-ins.
Involve family wisely. With consent, we guide families on what helps and what doesn’t.
Protect your privacy. Your information stays with your counselor.
Locations we serve
Howrah
People in Howrah often reach us after work hours; the city moves fast, and evenings are easier. We run after-office sessions and weekend groups. If you’re coming from Howrah Maidan or across the Howrah Bridge, we’ll share the shortest route and a quiet slot so you don’t wait in a busy lobby.
Popular requests here: alcohol moderation plans, stress counseling for shift workers, and family sessions for relapse support.
Rishra
Rishra sits by the Hooghly, and many of our callers are parents worried about a college-age child. We keep parent guidance sessions simple: what to watch for, what to avoid, how to speak so the message lands. If we need medical support, we coordinate referrals and follow-ups so families don’t feel lost between facilities.
Popular requests here: early-stage substance use screening, study stress management, family communication coaching.
Barasat
Barasat brings a mix of first-time seekers and people returning to care after a gap. We offer short, focused plans for those with packed schedules around NH-12 and nearby markets. Many prefer Saturday morning appointments; we keep slots aside for that.
Popular requests here: relapse prevention, anxiety counseling, brief therapy blocks for working professionals.

For families
Recovery is easier when the home is calm and consistent. We share scripts for tough conversations, boundary-setting tools, and a simple checklist: medications, triggers, warning signs, and who to call. Many families say this turns chaos into a plan.
Schools, colleges, and workplaces
Invite us for a 60-minute session, myths vs facts on addiction, early signs, and where to get help locally in Howrah, Rishra, and Barasat. Short, practical, and stigma-free.
Frequently asked questions
Is everything confidential?
Yes. We follow strict confidentiality. We involve family only with your consent or when safety is at risk.
Do you prescribe medicines?
Our counselors don’t prescribe. When medication or detox is necessary, we coordinate with trusted medical partners and stay with you through that process.
How many sessions will I need?
Many people feel a shift within 3–4 sessions. Some need longer support. We decide together.
Can I switch counselors?
Of course. Comfort matters more than anything else in therapy.
Do you have emergency support?
For urgent risks or medical emergencies, please contact local emergency services first. Then notify us; we’ll help with follow-up care.
